Absolutely! First and foremost, your engagement period should be a time of celebration. From the day of the proposal all the way to your Groom's dinner, is a season of celebration and love. Hire a wedding planner and watch them bring your vision to life, mitigate any stress, and ensure that your day runs smoothly so you can be fully present. On a photography note, leave space throughout your day for present moments with each other and your guests, so we can capture the day authentically.

Can you offer some wedding planning advice?

01

Yes, we have a style guide that we will send you upon booking, and we are pleased to offer our client closet for Mom with sizes ranging from XS - XL free of charge. Client closets are available to all family + newborn clients who book a Heirloom, Newborn, or Motherhood Session.

Do you offer any help with Outfit Guidance or recommendations?

02

There are no requirements to your wedding day! It can look exactly as you dream of it. We will educate you on the pro's and con's of a first look and any other decisions you come across, that way you can make an informed choice that suits the two of you best.

Is a first look required for our wedding day shot list?

03

Once you are in your second or third trimester! We will tentatively put you on the calendar on Baby's due date, knowing we will schedule the session around that time, or whenever Baby is born and mom feels comfortable. For sleepy newborns, I recommend scheduling within the first 3 weeks after birth, but if your family needs more time adjusting I am more than happy to wait until you are ready knowing that Baby may just be more alert in their photos.

When do you recommend clients book a newborn session?

04

This highly depends on your timeline, the time of year you're getting married, if there are location changes, the size of your bridal party and family shot list, and if you're doing a first look. After our initial consultation I will present several coverage options to you, and as we move along the process you can always upgrade if you would like. Our collections always begin at a minimum of 8 hours of coverage.

How much coverage do I really need?

05

As soon as you know you'd like one! Our books are open 1 calendar year in advance and we regularly get inquiries for peak seasons like fall and the holidays. We only take on a certain number of family and newborn sessions per month so that we can give our full attention to our clients and allow for rescheduling in the event of inclement weather.

How far in advance should we book a family session?

06

Of course! You are the parent and you know what is best for your children. Upon booking you will receive our standard contract which does include a minor model release. Just let us know that you would like to keep your child's identity private and we will adjust the wording in the minor model release to honor your wishes. This is becoming ever so common and we want our clients to feel as comfortable as possible going into their session!

Is it okay if I don't want my child's face shown on social media?

07

The first thing I want to say is that this is normal, and you are a wonderful parent.. Most often, we still have ample time to get gorgeous photos of your family together despite needing a break here or there. I direct children to play games, shift in my posing technique, and suggest walking to a nearby location for a change of scenery to reset if needed. Ultimately we want to capture this season of life exactly how it is, and I encourage parents to embrace it!

What happens if my toddler doesn't cooperate doing the session?

08

A resounding Yes! Not only do we recommend a second photographer, but we include one in all of our collections. The photographers we work with have years of experience and are there to act as an extension of Jen when she can't be in two places at once. They are able to capture creative angles, add so much to your gallery, and step in should an emergency arise. It's both beneficial to your gallery and an insurance policy should we ever need it (though we never have yet)!

Do you recommend a second shooter?

09

Believe it or not, everybody says this! We always start with classic portraits to get you warmed up before moving into my guided posing technique. This allows your genuine personality to shine while giving you some direction. Remember, I am there to fix any flyaway hairs, tell you where to put your hands, and get the most flattering angles. My guide to posing is both editorial and joyful, capturing the natural energy of your day!

We feel uncomfortable in front of the camera, Can you help with this?
